We,atYaşarUniversity,(“University”)actinconformitywiththeprincipleofprivacyofprivatelife,

andattachutmostimportancetotheitemspertainingtosafetyofyourpersonaldata.YaşarUniversity

therefore attaches due importance to the processing and protection of all kinds of personal data

concerning

individuals connected to the University in conformity with the Law on Protection of

Personal Data No. 6698. We‐described as “Data Controller” under the LPPP‐ act with full

consciousnessofthisresponsibilitythatweholdandprocessyourdataasdescribedbelowandwithin

thelegalframeworkidentified.



1.Collectionand

ProcessingofPersonalDataandProcessingPurposes



Depending on the form of relationship you have with the Unive rsity (as students,

academic/administrativestaffmembers,realandlegalpersons  as cooperatorsetc.), your personal

datacanbecollectedthroughverbal,writtenorelectronicmeansbytheUniversity’sacademican d

administrativedepartmentsand

onitswebsite,socialmediaaccounts,mobileapplicationsetc.using

automatic andnon‐automatic methods. Your personal data can beprocessedbytheUniversity by

means of creating and updating data. The collected personal data can be processed as per the

provisionsandpurposesofpersonaldataprocessingsetout

inthe5thand6tharticlesoftheLPPPto

makesurethatrelevantbusinessdepartmentsareabletoconducttheworksneededtoallowyouto 

make use of the services offered by the University, to ensure le gal and commercial safety of the

University and those cooperating with the University

 (administrative operations conducted by the

Universityforcommunication,physicalsecurityandsupervisionoftheareasundertheresponsibility

of the University, legal adjustment processes, financial affairs  etc.), to set  out and implementthe

University’s strategies, and to ensure implementation of the University’s human resources and

financialpolicies.



2.Usersand

PurposesofPersonalDataTransfers



Subjecttotheprovisionsandpurposesofpersonaldatatransferssetoutinthe8thand9tharticlesof

theLPPP,thecollectedpersonaldata(personalinformationincludingnameandsurname,IDnumbers,

phone numbers, e‐mail addresses etc.) can be transferred to make sure

 that relevant business

departmentsareabletoconducttheworksneededtoallowyoutomakeuse oftheservicesoffered

by the University; and concerning the University itself and those entities cooperating with the

University,suchdatacanalsobetransferredtothelegallyauthorizedpublicinstitutions,realand

legal

personsandsuppliersforthepurposesofadministrativeoperationsfor communi cation,worksfor

ensuringphysicalsecurityandsupervisionoftheareasundertheresponsibilityoftheUniversity,legal

adjustment processes, financial affairs etc., as well as to set out and implement the University’s

commercial and business strategies and to ensure

 implementation of its human resources and

financialpolicies.



3.PersonalDataCollectionMethodandLegalGrounds



Your personal data is collected using any verbal, written or electronic means to be able to offer

servicesbasedontheabove‐mentionedpurposesandtomakesurethattheUniversityactfullybyits

contractual and legal responsibilities and fulfill them accordingly. Collected based on this legal

regulation,your

personaldatacanalsobeprocessedforthepurposesdescribedinthearticles(1)and

(2) herein and within the framework of the provisions and purposes of personal data processing

stipulatedinthe5thand6tharticlesoftheLPPP.



4.PersonalDataOwner’sRightsintheLPPPArticle11



Aspersonaldataowners,youcansubmityourrequestsconcerningyour rights using the methods

describedbelowtotheUniversityandyourrequestwillbeevaluatedandconcludedfreeofcharge

within 30 (thirty) days, depending on the type  ofthe request made. However, in cases where the

PersonalDataProtection

Authorityrequiresafeetobecharged,theamountoffeetobechargedwill

becalculatedbasedonthetariffimplementedbytheUniversity.Thepersonaldataownerstherefore

havetheright:



tobeinformedaboutwhethertheirpersonaldataisprocessed,

torequesttobeinformedaboutwhere

theirpersonaldatahasbeenprocessed,

tobeinformedaboutthepurposeofprocessingoftheirpersonaldataandwhetherithasbeenused

inaccordancewiththerelevantpurpose,

Tobeinformedaboutthethirdpartiestowhomtheirpersonaldatahasbeentransferred

domesticallyandinternationally,

Torequestthat

faultyprocessingoftheirpersonaldataiscorrectedandthattheprocedures

conductedforsuchcorrectionsarereportedtothethirdpartiestowhomtheirpersonaldatahas

beentransferred,

Torequestthatthepersonaldataisdeletedordestroyedandthatthethirdpartiestowhomtheir

personaldata

hasbeentransferredareinformedaccordingly,incaseswherethegroundsfordata

processingnolongerexistaftertherelevantpersonaldatahadbeenprocessedinaccordancewith

theLPPPandtheotherlegalprovisions,

Toobjecttoanyoutcomethatresultedagainstthepersonduetoexclusiveanalysesofthe

processedpersonaldatausingautomaticsystems,

Torequestthatanylossescausedbyillegalprocessingofthepersonaldataarecompensated. 

Asper theArticle13(1)oftheLPPP,tousetherightsyouhaveasdescribedabove,youcansubmita

writtenrequestorresorttoothermethodsset

bythePersonalDataProtectionAuthority tosubmit

your requests. According to the LPPP, you are required to submit a written application to the

University.Themeansandproceduresinvolvedinthesubmissionofthewrittenapplications tothe

UniversityundertheArticle11oftheLPPParedescribedbelow.


