AIRPORT TAX (TSA)
All foreign citizens planning to travel to Cabo Verde are required to pre-register at the
online electronic platform EASE (www.ease.gov.cv) 5 days prior to departure to pay the
Airport Security Tax (TSA).
The TSA costs 3,400.00 CVE (about 35.00 USD) on international flights and 150.00
CVE (about 1.50 USD) on domestic flights.
Are exempt of the TSA:
Children under 2 years old;
Passengers on official missions on aircrafts in the private service of Cabo Verde
or foreign countries, on a reciprocity basis;
Passengers on planes forced to return to the airport, due to technical or
meteorological reasons or any other reasons beyond their control;
Transfer passengers;
Citizens holding a Cabo Verdean passport, their children under 18 years old, and
their spouses, upon presentation of a valid ID card (Passport, Identity Card or
National Identification Card);
Resident foreigners, upon presentation of the Residence Permit, Residence Visa
or other valid identification document.
VISAS CATEGORIES
Tourism
For recreational travel or visit. It allows its holder to stay up to 90 days, which can be
extended for a maximum of an equal period, and must be used within 180 days after the
visa is issued.
Official, Diplomatic and Courtesy
It must be used within ninety days after it is issued. It allows the stay in the country of up
to 30 days, and may be valid for multiple entries.
Transit
For passengers in transit to another country. The visa is valid for 4 days and can only be
extended once.

Temporary
For cultural travel, business and religious mission, short-term professional activity,
medical treatment, family visit and other reasons considered by the authorities. The
temporary visa may be for single or multiple entries and must be used within a maximum
period of 180 days after it is granted. The single entry allows a stay of 180 days, and the
multiple entries allows the holder more than one entry and the total stay of 90 days for
one year from the date of issuance.
EXEMPTION
Foreigners with a valid residence permit;
Foreigners who benefit from visa exemption provided for by law or who benefit from
visa waiver international agreements in which Cabo Verde is a party;
Foreigners with travel permits as refugees;
Employee or foreign mission agent or international organization with an identity card
issued by the government department responsible for foreign affairs;
Cabo Verde nationals who have acquired foreign nationality and their respective
spouses and descendants, by showing passport, birth certificate, marriage certificate
or any other document stating the circumstance for being born, married or
son/daughter of a father or mother born in Cabo Verde.
REQUIREMENTS
Passport valid for at least six months beyond your period of stay in Cabo Verde;
Visa application form;
One passport type picture;
Money order, cash or bank check in the amount of 114.00 USD for multiple entries;
Money order, cash or bank check in the amount of 60.00 USD for single entry;
Document that proves the nature of the trip for official, diplomatic or courtesy visas;

Additional Documentation
Additional documents may be requested to determine if you qualify for visas. For
example, additional documents may include evidence of:
Your intent to depart Cabo Verde after the trip
Your ability to pay all costs related to the trip

If requesting your visa by mail we suggest using FEDEX and prepay the return of your
passport, making sure that your reference will appear as sender and receiver, keeping
record of your tracking number.
