Arrival from Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA)
If you are coming to Macau from HKIA, you can take the TurboJET catamaran service from the
Skypier at Hong Kong International Airport to Macau Maritime Ferry Terminal. This service
enables you to transit to Macau without passing through Hong Kong Immigration, Customs or
Baggage Reclaim. The Journey time is approximately 50 minutes. The fare is HK$254 (Economy
Class – one way). Tickets can be obtained from the Ferry Transfer Desk at the airport. Timetable
and fares can be found on the TurboJET website:
http://www.turbojet.com.hk/en/routing-sailing-schedule/hk-airport-macau/sailing-schedule-
fares.aspx
Please note that you must present your passport and baggage counterfoil (the small tag with the
bar code) at the Macau ferry ticket booking office; you must give up your baggage tag so that the
service operator can retrieve your baggage for you (you will not see your baggage in Hong Kong,
you will only see it when you arrive in Macau). The ferry ticket booking office is situated before
you reach the immigration at Hong Kong airport. It is essential that, if you wish to use this ferry
service, you do NOT go to the immigration, but follow the signs inside the airport to the counter
for tickets for the Macau ferry. You must allow a minimum of one hour before the ferry departs.
The ferry departure hall is downstairs in the HKIA building (the floor below the ferry ticket
office); it is clearly signposted). Have your ticket and passport ready for inspection. If at all
possible, we advise you strongly to use the HKIA ferry service, as it is much easier and less
crowded than the alternatives, even if you have to wait for one hour or longer.
The last ferry from the airport to Macau leaves at 22:00, so if your late arrival in HK airport does
not allow you enough time to catch the TurboJET catamaran from the Skypier, you will have to
catch ferries that run from the Shun Tak ferry terminal in Sheung Wan on Hong Kong Island or
from the China Ferry Terminal in Tsim Sha Tsui (TST) in Kowloon (the service from Sheung
Wan is much more frequent than the service from TST, Kowloon). You will need to come
through immigration at HKIA, and then reclaim your baggage and take it with you to Sheung
Wan.
To reach the Shun Tak ferry terminal you can take a taxi (Taxi fare is approximately HK$320 -
400) or the rail Airport Express, it will take you to Central in just 24 minutes. Trains depart at
about 10-minute intervals from 05:54 to 23:28 (Fare is HK$100). If you take the Airport Express
then this will take you to the station called ‘Central’ and then you must change underground
trains and take the Island line on the underground to Sheung Wan (only one station away).
