4.4 Medical Insurance
You must be insured against illness and accidents before leaving your country for
traineeship. Be sure to have your insurance policy number and insurance card with
you at all times in case of need or emergency.
In most cases, you will pay for the medical bill at consultation and claim the fees after
you have returned to your country. You may want to bring some spare money or load
some spare credits into your credit cards just in case.
University of Macau asks all their registered students to buy a UM insurance which
covers medical services at designated local clinics and hospitals. If you do not want to
pay for this extra insurance, we will provide a waiver form at registration.
