Bachelor of Science Degree in

Shipping and Logistics

The Bachelor Degree is a four year full-time/part-

time programme. This interdisciplinary programme

is designed to equip personnel with management

skills in

The course is offered to the region, delivered through

selected local and regional Distance Education by

print, face-to-face tutorials and computer support.

Entry Requirements

Five (5) CXC/GCE ‘O’ Level Subjects including

MathematicsandEnglishorformaturestudents,

aptitude and at least three (3) years relevant work

experience with a letter of recommendation from an

immediate supervisor.

Preliminary Course of Study

This eight-month course is designed to prepare

studentsformatriculationintoCMI’sCoreCourses.

Students in the Pre- CMI programme are divided

into two streams. These are termed, technical and

commercial. The intention of the institute is to tool

one stream for an academic course of study such as

theDiplomainInternationalShippingandLogistics

(DISL).Thesecondstreamwasgearedforentryinto

thenauticaleld,specializinginprogrammessuch

as the Associates of Science Degree in Industrial

SystemsOperationsandMaintenance(ADISOM).It

istobenotedtheMathematicsandCommunication

Skillsascoresubjectsareofferedtobothstreams.
