Physical Health Services
Student Health Records
All DO students are required to submit medical records to the Oce of Student/Resident Medical
Records at the me of matriculaon. Students must submit a health insurance aestaon form
annually. Addional records are required for students beginning their clinical rotaons (vaccinaon
records/serologic immunity records/TB screening/drug screening) and are ulized for credenaling
purposes with PCOM aliated clinical sites and preceptors. All student health records are condenal
and are maintained in accordance with HIPAA and FERPA regulaons.
Healthcare
It is PCOM policy that M1 and M2 students should seek health services from providers that are NOT
responsible for grading and academic promoon, or the provider must recuse themselves from
grading the student. M3 and M4 students who are assigned to clinical clerkships with preceptors that
they have a therapeuc relaonship with should immediately report this to the Oce of Clinical
Educaon and request reassignment to a dierent preceptor for that rotaon. M3 and M4 students
can NOT arrange an Elecve Rotaon with a preceptor that they have a therapeuc relaonship with.
Inuenza vaccinaons are oered annually by the College. Alternately, a student may receive their
inuenza vaccinaon from another provider. All other clinical prevenve health services are provided
by the student’s chosen health care provider and are billed to the student’s health insurance plan.
Roune diagnosc and therapeuc health services are provided by the student’s chosen health care
provider and are billed to the student’s health insurance plan. Students should understand
completely the specics of their individual health insurance plan, including coverage for in-network
and out-of-network providers. Charges for healthcare services not covered by insurance are the
responsibility of the student.
Occupaonal Exposures and Injuries
Student with bloodborne pathogen or other exposures and injuries acquired during training should
immediately report the incident as per PCOM policy to all of the following:
