Criminal History Name Search
The Conviction Database is public record information extracted from the DPS Computerized Criminal
History System (CCH). The information contained in CCH is only public if a conviction or deferred
adjudication has been reported to the Department on an offense.
What Data Can I Search?
Arrests, prosecutions and the disposition of the case for persons arrested for Class B misdemeanor or
greater violation of Texas criminal statutes, as well as Class C convictions or deferred adjudications
that are reported to the Department. The statute identifies many of the actual data elements. In
addition, although not required by statute, CCH has traditionally included limited supervision data
reported to
DPS by TDCJ.
Additional Information
- Information on customers that have purchased the Public Criminal
History Database.
- Texas Legislature Online website lists the Statutes for the State of Texas.
- A Report Examining Reporting Compliance to the Texas Computerized Criminal
History System.

Public Fingerprints
The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office Crime Scene Unit conducts fingerprinting for the public on
Tuesdays between the hours of 8:30 AM to 10:30 AM and again from 12:30 PM to 3:30 PM
(excluding
county holidays).
These fingerprints are done in ink or on live scan and will be given back to the individual being
fingerprinted. If the company requiring your fingerprints wants your fingerprints sent to them
electronically, the Sheriff’s Office cannot conduct this type of service. There is a $15.00 charge for
public fingerprints and needs to be paid at the Records Lobby. The Records Clerk can only accept
exact cash, check, or money order. You must have a government issued photo Identification with
y
ou (Passport, Driver's License, State Identification Card). The dress code is business casual as you
will be entering the secured area of the Sheriff’s Office.
